Artist’s statement
I’m currently working with intimate objects which have been in my family for many years. I associate them with people, place and domestic settings. Spending time drawing each object enables me to build new relationships and appreciate a personal history. Experimenting with traditional intaglio print processes has also connected me with the past; it demands certain disciplines and procedures, which add a sense of formality, familiarity and permanence to the work.
